Project Overview:

Airey Consultants Ltd provided engineering services to Da-Silva Builders for Stage 1 to 3 of the multistage developments at Ormiston Central, East Auckland. The project involved the structural design and construction monitoring of 4 three-story apartment blocks, with a shared concrete basement carpark, as well as 6 blocks of two and three-story townhouses.

Three of the four apartment blocks are supported on suspended concrete precast floors over a shared concrete basement carpark, while the last apartment block is founded on a shallow raft foundation.
Detailed structural engineering design involved block retaining walls, drain bridging, precast concrete shear walls & retaining walls, precast floor, and beams to basement carpark levels. The upper levels are conventional timber framing with steel portal frames and plywood bracing walls.
