Pauanui Development

With the remembrance of the storm in Wellington Harbour 40 years ago which sank the inter-island ferry Wahine, it has reminded Director Murray Smith that it was 40 years ago, the day before on 9 April 1968, that he spent the first overnight at Pauanui at the start of the Pauanui Ocean Beach Resorts development.
Over that time POBR developed some 1,700 sections and in more recent years Pauanui Waterways Ltd have developed a further 320 in the canal/ housing development, with Stage 3 in that development to start shortly with Airey Consultants Ltd Director James Greenwood as the Project Engineer.
